Incredibly patronising in parts.

Mindfulness tips can be useful but are also widely available in other, far better forms which can be sought out individually when required. This training was incredibly patronising in parts. Just because we're on furlough doesn't mean we have forgotten how to set an alarm and make a packed lunch, I appreciate these tips might help a few people but it really could be delivered in a much less patronising way. Work is not the only thing in our lives that requires us to wake up and be organised and prepared.

2/5
Vague and patronising

There was no information specific to York St John University, or to Higher Education. There was also very little specific to COVID, and almost all of it seemed to have been recycled from material aimed at staff who have been off with long-term sickness (with their team still at work), rather than a situation where entire teams will have been away from the office (even if they have been working from home.

common sense

A little late as i've been back at work for nearly 5 months.Mainly common sense. Didn't learn anything i didn't already know

2/5
very basic and somewhat patronising

too generic

2/5
Not special needs friendly

It was not clear that the test will be at the end and questions might include the acronyms and abbreviation. You could 've put these questions in addition to the two sample questions, i.e. one question at the end of each video and certificate at the end. Be aware that some people may have special needs. Videos with subtitles would be much helpful.

2/5
Not as informative as needed

This training could have been far more informative. It will not allay anxiety or stress. It is not equipping/informing the work force with the policies and procedures put in place, that they will need to adhere to once they are asked to return on site.

2/5
a waste of time - its all common sense

this course is too basic and drawn out - it should have been a set of built points or a small flyer.

2/5
Too verbose, could be more compact.

Very verbose and much of it stating the obvious. As a positive counterexample, my favourite course was by far the Fire Awareness. That was interesting, insightful, novel and informative. Note that now they seemed to have taken away the possibility to just read the content/transcript which would have been much faster for me; now one is forced to listen to the presentation; especially in a course based on verbal presentation that is unnecessary confining (again, in Fire Awareness, there is at least some point to the video presentations of fire situations). In an earlier version of the system, I have looked at the transcript even in other - more contentful/complex - courses and still passed the test. Participants should not be forced to sit through the spoken presentation, especially since for getting a certificate you anyway have an assessment which filters whether participants have actually taken in the material, so uptake is not an issue.

clear

I felt this presenter mentioned anxiety about returning to work too often. Many people can feel anxious about working from home, social isolation and keeping on top of their job. Mindfulness has had criticism in recent years: if a person is worried at home it barely touches it. The best action is to speak to someone who has the skills to listen and to reassure them that they will be supported either at home or back in the workplace.

Extremely long

Course was too long for the amount of information given, and took up too much time to complete while workload is high.
