These online sessions don't particularly suit my style of learning and I found this 60 minute one tedious.
There is a question with an ambiguous answer, the one about children appearing dirty and unkempt as a sign of abuse. The 'correct' answer is the type of abuse is neglect, but this can also be a sign of physical (sexual) abuse. The course tells you that you do not need to know the type of abuse in order to report, so the question seems irrelevant because if the child appears to be in a condition that raises concern you should just report regardless, or talk to the child to find out how they are. I also felt there was a lot of emphasis on listing types of abuse, but not enough training on how to talk to children that are disclosing, what the right questions to ask are (or what the wrong ones are). It would be better if this course could split out the level 2 safeguarding training, as those who only need level 1 are given too much information for it to be effective training, especially when they do not work in a setting that requires contact with children.

There is a lot of information to take in so it may need to be divided in separate courses, for example Prevent. Also their needs to be more illustrations case studies to help people relate it to real life situations.
Did struggle since vids were repeated at times but overall it was good
