Comprehensive

Comprehensive for the ladder types it covers. We also use folding and telescopic, could the next version cover a short section on erection and maintenance of these please. Most of the usage and footing is the same as other ladders.

Definitely some useful information

Although this course definitely contained some useful information, 90% of the course was to put it mildly .... a little obvious? You must not exceed the weight limit of the ladder .... Get away!!!!Maybe some more technical information, like how ladders are made and why they can only take a certain limit. Or why 75% is the correct angle may be of more use. Certainly not boring though.

Very clearly explained, easy to follow

I scored 4 star only because I had to revisit the training in relation to an answer I got wrong in the test - what is the maximum weight you should carry whilst using a ladder. Even after revisiting the course, I could not find an answer and had to guess.

Good general ladder safety course

The course was very informative and provided information that is easy to remember, however, there was no information about mobile steps, which would be very useful to know as more jobs are using these when working from height.

Good course but not for office staff

Lesley and I have tried out the ladders course. I thought it was very good, but agree with Lesley that it wouldn’t be immediately suitable for all our office staff. Our office staff really have just step-ladders, step stools and low platforms (like decorators use). Of those items, the course only covers step-ladders. It does cover ladders and extension ladders in detail, but that is not relevant to office staff really. We have installation teams that do use ladders but they are already trained. It was a useful exercise to review the course anyway.

Overall a good course

Course was detailed and communicated in a simple format. Certificate only valid for 1 year which is the only disappointing part.
