The content of the course was fine, and easy to follow and understand. However, some information relating to how it fits in with the specific situation of volunteering on the boats at Swinton Activity Centre would be useful.
It covers the basic requirements
A good summary of the role and responsibilities
St Johns trained personnel are required to return to the lower level of facilitator even though in date required as informed as per the induction? slides on the presentation ? why place FA kits in a cupboard and not mark they as secured in there? Blankets for serious events to keep casualty warm/dry before evac by medics? slide 21 why not include three word identification into your RA for easy site location. Slide 17 no requirement for face shield in FA kits covid ? FA trained lanyards ident? standard in industry. Slide 21 trapped confined space RA? you don't have one?
although this course was simple, and good knowledge, one question is re mandatory equipment in first aid kits. it seems that there is "a minimal amount of equipment that must be in the kit", however true is the wrong answer?it may be me but this seems that a minimal amount and mandatory are the same?
it was good
As this is not linked to ESR, my staff are having issues with it showing on ESR. Despite following instructions, a month later it is still now showing on ESR for them.
It starts off with a lot of mays and then goes to a lot of ares without a clear link between what the person is responsible for versus may be responsible for. It would be clearer to cover the may alongside the are responsible for as well as a structured list of things you must confirm with the employer.
I found this course to be interesting and informative.
Again, really good course that delivered what it needed to. My criticism would be the lack of diversity - everyone was white and the only image I saw of someone who wasn't white was the victim of an accident.
