Good

The question on stereotypes is open to interpretation; depends on the context. Disappointed to find this wrong.

Still struggling with subtitles

It is very difficult doing training when you use subtitles due to hearing loss, however, some of the course is sound clips and video clips involving sound. The course was biased and made assumptions really. This is a tongue in cheek comment really as I got around it in the end by using earphones, however, there perhaps should have been some warning before starting that sound would be needed to prepare people to make adjustments if possible.

Dyslexia

I have Dyslexia so I would have preferred • Written editable documentation so it can be studied and amended for me to work with. • I need and Overview like the list but so I can edit it • to be able to change the Visual aspect of the text a curvy font such as Comic sans the ability to change the size (I do not like open dyslexic Font) and the colour of the background • Relies on a good memory that focuses in a linear way • I believe that the course is biased towards non dyslexic people I could be wrong but the question below as I have found some of the questions in your tests confusing and having confusing sentences. Which when I study the question I can see the answer but due to the way that it is visually represented I don’t see it. Adding a NOT as an example. When I read words move around the page so that the particular word I can miss. Hence why its important that I use a low contrast setting usually with peach/light orange background. One example Question I found difficult.Anything that’s different to our version of normal or good could be ………. (Weakening or Strengthening ) a negative bias. This seems to be illogical as if I challenge my version then it will be weakening my negative bias. And it depends on how you define “anything that’s different” so this is confusing as you discussed challenging our perception which would have been weakening my negative bias.

The course was helpful in providing definitions and a description of the factors that contribute to unconscious bias.

Please ignore the stars

Some questions didn't make clear what they meant. I think I noticed the occasional grammatical error.

CBT re-branded!

I teach the theory behind this training programme - cognitive therapy/re-structuring; and Beck's original Identify, Challenge and Change Model for depression. Hence I am aware of the inherent weaknesses in using cognitive re-structuring as a way of changing behaviour. People often exist (quite happily) in a state of cognitive dissonance where their thoughts are not congruent with their behaviour. Emotions need addressing too, and some people may need to explore previous experiences that have shaped their behaviour.

Very basic overview of unconscious bias

This introduction to the idea of unconscious bias is quite functional, but also very basic and low-level. I can't say it taught me anything I did not already know.

Contradictory

I found some of the content contradictory, within the training it was highlighted that a bias is not always wrong but acknowledging that we have bias is useful as long as we question it. Baring this in mind when I was asked the question “it is important to use past experiences to make a judgement and decision about new experiences” incorrectly as I believe this to be true I think the answer is either misleading or incorrect as if we don’t use past experiences we can’t be challenging our view?
