Over long

The video was too long and repeated itself

A useful reminder of good practice

I found this to be a succinct way of receiving manual handling training and will roll out to school colleagues. We have all been guilty of bad practice, but i have already found myself adjusting my bahaviour on the basis of what I learned.

Mainly good

Most of it is common sence to many but there are interesting sections on less obvious things, enjoyed the bit about the back and how it works.

very good programme, easy to understand

The programme helped me to understand and remember safety manual handling rules.

4 Stars

A very good introduction to the topic, but a little repetitive and slowly paced, especially for those with some knowledge / experience of this topic.

I've had better

Not detailed enough. If it is a refresher course, then it should be reminding us of lifting priniciples (and therefore doesn't need to be as in depth). But as the course seems to be aimed at a complete novice then it was lacking. For example, the first few times "ten to two" is mentioned it doesn't actually explain what this means. When lifting off the floor the vid shows the man get down by bending his knees, the lifts the package to his chest, THEN straightens his legs to lift. So what muscles lifted the package to his chest? Seemingly sloppy mistakes such as the 2 lifting the table, on the count of 3 she lifts, then so does he, surely the count of 3 is so that both lift at the same time? Seems a easy mistake to fix, ie film it again.Questions were too ambigous also. The vid says to lift with someone 'count to 3 or something similar' but then has a question where count to 3 is the only answer, where one of the other answers 'keep quiet to concentrate' is just as valid especially if the other person is the one who has taken charge as the video says one should do. Also, one question regarding pushing or pulling items says pulling is the correct answer, but then how would I get an item from for example the back of a shelf at height? Sorry for picking faults, you may not agree with them, but I feel that an absolute beginner would struggle to follow this. I've had more Manual Handling training than I can remember and I only got 75% right.

Very informative

It would be really useful to be able to pause the videos

was interesting

i was interested to learn about how the back works, having done manaul handling before it was never explained about how it works, only that you can damage it , so was intersting to know

5/5
A clear and concise programme.

The programme provided clear instructions for manual handling procedures to be applied at home or at the workplace. The multimedia presentation allowed greater explanation than would be achieved using a simple paper based system.
