Nice way of learning in your own time.
The course made me realise that I need to be more careful when using my small ladder in the home. Although on reflection some of the training seemed obvious teh course ensured that bad ladder habits should be avoided for personal safety
I did not realize that aluminium ladders are not to be used for electrical work, and most of the sites I work at supply ladders and a ladder permit, which does not specify the electrical aspects,
“You’re not my real ladder!” I shouted at my step-ladder…
In all the content was good however i have to disagree with how they advise carrying a ladder with your arm inside the rungs. If you had to fall doing this then you increase the chances of injury/breaking your arm.
I am very happy that I can take part in the courses that you are offering . Very well job.
Lesley and I have tried out the ladders course. I thought it was very good, but agree with Lesley that it wouldn’t be immediately suitable for all our office staff. Our office staff really have just step-ladders, step stools and low platforms (like decorators use). Of those items, the course only covers step-ladders. It does cover ladders and extension ladders in detail, but that is not relevant to office staff really. We have installation teams that do use ladders but they are already trained. It was a useful exercise to review the course anyway.
This course provided very clear and concise instruction that could be easily followed by office personnel. There is also the benefit of raised awareness when using ladders in a home situation. The videos were well presented and provided the opportunity for "re-play." The course has been clearly thought out for the benefit of a broad spectrum of users. Thank you.
