Reasonable course, but lots of repetition of content of other courses I've attended (manual handling, workstation layout). Could be tailored to make more efficient.
No summary provided
The Health and Safety for Homeworkers course was easy to understand and gave out clear messages of what is important when working at home. In particular, I found the sections on lifting and carrying, posture and use of laptop, use of electrical equipment and fire safety information most helpful.
I think, Health and Safety should be broken up as a lot of this was generic health and safety which could have been done separately and then home workers could have done the extra bit
A bit long winded
I think this course could be made shorter. It could do with a summary page with key facts• Responsibilities • Legal requirements of homeworker and employer • Most common causes of accidentsAnd refer to DSE which is covered elsewhere rather than including it here.In summary I think it’s a bit long and unnecessarily basic.
Little repetitive as it covers sessions already done in DSE, Fire awareness etc.
I felt some of the content was extremely patronising. For example as a fairly well educated 56 year old should I be being advised to call 999 in the case of a fire and ask for the fire brigade? Maybe if I was a year 4 at primary school.
