In this first section, we will be looking at what communication is, the communication circuit, how we all communicate and some of the barriers to effective communication we might face.

This final section will look at how people can overcome barriers to effective communication while at work. This will be broken down into 4 easy steps; active listening, use non-verbal signals, be calm, and finally, be assertive.

About this course

Unfortunately, sometimes there is a mismatch between what we are trying to communicate and how it is understood.

However, if we continue to work on our communication skills, it makes us far more likely to be able to express ourselves in a way that others can clearly understand.

Even though 89% of people believe that effective communication is extremely important, 8 out of 10 people rate their own business' communication as either average or poor. That's where communication eLearning comes in.

This Effective Communication Skills course is suitable for anyone. It can be used for improving communication skills, learning the basics and foundations of effective communication or it can be used as a refresher for those who consider themselves strong communicators and want to ensure they are still familiar with good practices.

Something I didn’t know before, but good to learning

Good solid overview

This is a quick and easy to digest intro to Comms - it covers the very basic information some of which I knew already such as the various forms of Communication - and Active Listening etc . It tells and shows but at 12 minutes I wouldnt really describe this as training per se - its a gentle intro to the complex world of Comms - and does not include any practice etc . The downloadable extras are really useful for further learning .
