The worst thing is when the sexual harasser projects their own offences onto you, making you feel as if you created or committed them — when in truth they only ever came from their own minds. The most unforgivable situation is when such projections make you feel responsible, as if you originated them, when in fact you never did. This is not only unfair but deeply degenerative: it robs you of energy and attention, pulling you away from important matters and forcing you to defend yourself unnecessarily against something you never created. Harassment doesn’t just cause harm in the moment — it can rob people of years afterwards, leaving victims cautious, second-guessing themselves, and feeling as though they had a hand in something they never did. Its a robber and thief. The worst part is how it diverts energy away from real matters you should be able to focus on; instead you are made to deal with projections that only ever originated in someone else’s mind, a form of psychological abuse in itself. Victims can waste precious time and energy defending themselves against things they never created, while those responsible may walk away feeling fine about what they did — an imbalance that makes this one of the most destructive and unforgivable forms of behaviour.
