About this course

Your workplace should be an environment in which you feel safe, happy and comfortable to work to the best of your potential. Bullying & Harassment should not be tolerated under any circumstances.

This online bullying and harassment training course has been created to help every employee identify, prevent and tackle this negative behaviour, with the aim of removing it from the workplace altogether.

It gives this subject the sensitivity it needs whilst providing practical steps that can be used to combat bullying and harassment. This course also focuses on PREVENTING this negative behaviour - employees will learn how to create a POSITIVE CULTURE in the workplace.

According to a recent report carried out by YouGov, almost a third (29%) of people are bullied at work, causing 36% of victims to quit their role, whilst 46% of victims said it 'adversely' affected their performance at work. Make sure you can identify signs of bullying and prevent it from happening in your workplace with our Bullying & Harassment at work training. Confronting bullying behaviour at work and creating a positive workplace culture by showing employees you take this seriously is one of the best ways to retain staff and enhance their experience at work. Keep your talent and cut out negative behaviour in the workplace.

It also works in conjunction with our "Bullying and Harassment in the Workplace – Management" course and our Equality and Diversity Training.

Why is this training important?

Compliance

It's important that you comply with the law and know the ways in which it affects you and the way you work.

The Sex Discrimination Act 1975 protects people from discrimination on the grounds of sex or marital status.

The Criminal Justice and Public Order Act made intentional harassment a criminal offence.

The Protection from Harassment Act made it a criminal offence to pursue conduct that leads to harassment, or fear that violence will be used. If convicted, someone can be sentenced to up to six months in prison, or get a fine of up to £5000.

The Equality Act ensures the workplace is a fair environment for all employees, while respecting the protected characteristics of each individual.

The Health & Safety at Work Act ensures that employers are responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all employees while they’re at work.

Business benefits

Every workplace should be a safe environment, free from bullying and harassment, where people are happy and able to work at their best.

However, according to YouGov, almost a third of all workers have claimed that they’ve experienced bullying at work which has adversely affected their performance. Bullying creates a negative working environment, decreasing productivity whilst increasing staff turnover; and harassment, which is an offence, leads to criminal charges, fines, and lost reputation. You need to make sure that ALL staff are able to spot the signs and know what to do to stamp it out. This course on Bullying & Harassment not only helps people understand, identify, and tackle the problem of bullying and harassment, but also gives them tools to prevent it from occurring in the first place.
