A reminder to be reflective
The course was good with some interesting strategies and good additional resources.
It was fine if you're neurotypical but…
It didn't really address how to make eye contact if you're neurodivergent. Maintaining eye contact whilst talking and listening can cause me to concentrate more on that eye contact than what someone is talking about. Which is obviously not helpful because now I'm not listening to what they're saying. It told you how to speak confidently but it didn't teach you how to practice the art of it. Like it's all well and good telling me to take a pause to collect my thoughts but in reality – that just doesn't happen. Filler words like 'um' are actually different in every language and they are a universal sign that someone is thinking about how they want to say what they want to say next. This feels very much like 'how to talk confidently in front of a group of people' not just on a one to one. Confidence also comes from knowledge – the more you know your art the easier it is to flow when talking. Hesitation comes from a lack of understanding leading to a lack of confidence – it's not causal, it's correlation…. Knowledge is power, and confidence is having the knowledge to make statements that you KNOW are correct. What's the point in being confidently incorrect?
Again, another impressive session. Thanks

Helpful
The length of this training is really good and I thought the content was overall very helpful. Also I appreciated the summary and further learning pdfs. Might have been good if there were a couple of practical tasks during the training to help get us thinking about how to practically apply the advice.
