Safer Internet Day 2018

iHasco are supporting Safer Internet Day 2018!

It's Safer Internet Day and to help support the occasion, we've extracted a few resources from our Safeguarding Children Training to help you keep children safe on the internet!

What is Safer Internet Day?

Safer Internet Day is all about promoting the safe and positive use of the internet and digital technology for children and teenagers.

Each year it is coordinated by the UK Safer Internet Centre and it offers a fantastic opportunity to highlight all of the positive uses of the web and technology. Together, we can create a better and much safer online community!

Shocking statistics surrounding young people and the web

  • 1 in 3 users of the internet are children
  • 1 in 3 children have been a victim of cyberbullying
  • Over 12,000 counselling sessions took place with young people that were affected by online issues in 2017
  • 1 in 4 young people seem racist or hate messages online
  • In 2016, the Internet Watch Foundation identified over 57,000 URLs containing child sexual abuse images
