The mixture of direct information given, acknowledging that to be involved in a real fire is a frightening experience when people do not always do as they have been taught to do gives a complete picture and helps a prospective fire warden take on board the responsibility of leading others by example and practice. The Test makes a learner take this experience seriously and to own the responsibility that is a shared one.
