The training was informative.

I felt the training was too long for one session, due to work commitments

Really well put together

Course content relevant, easy to understand. The repetition helped to commit information to memory. Demonstrations were really helpful and the test helped to solidify the knowledge gained.

The fire escape signage in the course is incorrect

I do voluntary work for Campus and Co which is why i was asked to complete this course. My normal day job is in the fire industry and on a daily basis i find signage incorrect which also applies in this course. One example of this is in the room where the hidden cameras were placed and the fire alarm was set off to show that not everyone evacuates immediately. The sign above the door shows a down arrow which applies that there are steps or a slope shortly after passing through the doorway. When passing through a doorway and continuing at the same level, the sign should have an upward pointing arrow. The other safe condition sign i saw in the course was at the final exit of a building. This arrow should have no arrow on it, and only the words "Exit" or "Fire Exit" should be shown along with the image of the moving person. More information can be found regarding this on BS5499
