This mandatory course is very frustrating as I am a psychologist with much personal experience with mental health. It is very basic and slow-paced. I guess it's ok if you know absolutely nothing about mental health but to anyone who has some idea, the course is rather patronising especially the tone of the presenters.
For championing positive thinking the course dwells on a lot of negative imagery, as metaphor for mental illness.https://www.ucl.ac.uk/news/2022/jul/analysis-depression-probably-not-caused-chemical-imbalance-brain-new-studyIt is also somewhat based on outdated concepts.

Neglects mental illness and its treatment in favour of 'wellness', 'wellbeing' and other buzzwords associated with Harry Windsor
This training needs work. It is very general and by only encouraging people to look at the further resources it is avoiding the responsibility of its training. Most people would avoid reading further into things and so they are left with an understanding and awareness that most people already have in which case it was time not well spent. Especially with the WAP, this should definitely have been expanded upon.
Staff have had Mental Health training previously and as a result have full awareness of Mental Health issues. I personally didn't learn anything new and thought the information given was common sense. This course is ideal for anyone who doesn't have knowledge of Mental Health issues and how to take care of oneself.
Sometimes doing all the stuff said in the course won’t work due to the fact that mental health isn’t the same with everyone and people deal with it differently
This is a corporate wellness programme not a review of mental health. It is simplistic and puts the onus on the individual to recover with no understanding or reflection of their individual circumstances. It should be called "well being for beginners" not an introduction to mental health
