iHASCO virtual charity quiz raises funds for Age UK Berks

Last Friday marked the start of iHASCO’s fundraising efforts for Age UK Berkshire. At the start of every new financial year, iHASCO chooses a new charity to support. Age UK Berks is iHASCO’s 2020/21 charity partner and the team have been excited to get started with fundraising activities. However the current Covid-19 pandemic has presented a few barriers when it comes to organising fundraising activities. The Charity Committee are up for the challenge and are currently working on a few ideas but the first has already taken place and was a lot of fun for everyone involved.

Virtual Quiz

In true British spirit of carrying on regardless, the Charity Committee decided not to let the situation prevent fundraising, so set up a quiz, making the most of iHASCO’s video conferencing facility! Currently people up and down the country are embarking on virtual quizzes during lockdown for some entertainment. They provide a great way to interact with others so not only is it a great opportunity to socialise, our charity partner Age UK Berks can benefit at the same time!

Over 20 employees signed up to complete the virtual quiz with donations being made through our just giving page. Quiz categories included Disney films, sports, a picture round and general knowledge, with a total of 60 points available. It was a great activity for a Friday afternoon and everyone who took part enjoyed the quiz, despite some tough questions in the last round! The top score achieved 45 points and our Quiz master Jack Pitts kept the quiz in order!

What’s next…?

Like many companies and individuals across the UK, iHASCO are carrying on in adversity, albeit with adapting to the unusual circumstances. We have been given inspiration from the key workers who continue to keep our country going and individuals like Captain Tom Moore. We will continue to look after each other and make a genuine difference. We are pleased to still be able to contribute to supporting a charity and what’s more we can make sure we have some fun whilst raising money for a great cause!
