iHASCO chooses Age UK Berkshire as new charity partner

Age UK Berkshire logo and iHASCO logo to announce new charity partnership

As a business that supports a different charity partner each year, we know there are so many good causes out there to support and it is always difficult to select just one but with the upcoming launch of our Care Certificate Package, we wanted to choose a charity inline with caring for the elderly and vulnerable in our society.

So we are delighted to announce that iHASCO will be supporting Age UK Berkshire as our charity partner for 2020/2021.

Who are Age UK Berkshire?

Age UK Berkshire are a local charity, supporting around 18,000 older people, their families and carers in the community. Their aim is for everyone to be able to love later life.

They offer a huge range of support services including information & advice for a wide variety of topics of interest or concern to older people, their families and carers in Berkshire, a befriending service and they run a range of activity classes from coffee mornings to Tai Chi! All of which couldn’t be achieved without volunteers, fundraising and charitable donations.

How will iHASCO help?

The iHASCO HQ is based in Bracknell so it means that our wonderful staff will be able to actively take part and support Age UK Berkshire with their local projects. Whether that is taking part in an organised event or getting our gardening gloves on to help with the allotment in Bracknell - we can’t wait to get stuck in!

We are delighted that iHASCO will be supporting Age UK Berkshire as their charity partner; having local businesses support a local charity is incredibly important, particularly at the current time. We will work closely with the iHASCO team - they will be involved in some of our local services, getting to know the older people we support, the issues they face and together we can ensure that older people in the area can love later life.

Our newly elected charity committee is due to virtually meet over a group video call this week to begin to plan fundraising events so we can start towards achieving our massive £5000 target! Our Just Giving Page is all set to go so we can easily keep track of our fundraising efforts.

Whilst we recognise that our plans to support the charity for at least this first part of the financial year are going to need to be based on a more hands off approach due to social distancing, we can’t wait to meet some of the people Age UK help in the latter part of the year and plan in some face to face events to raise a lot of money! In the meantime, we will be coming up with a few fundraising ideas without breaking social distancing rules!

I know the iHASCO team will be up for this challenge! Furthermore, one of iHASCO’s core values is to make a genuine difference and we feel we can do just that with our partnership with Age UK Berkshire.
