About this course

The Building Safety Act 2022 marks one of the most significant overhauls of building safety laws in decades, introduced to prevent tragedies like the Grenfell Tower fire.

Whether you’re a building owner, developer, or facilities manager, this course breaks down the essentials of the Building Safety Act and outlines everything you need to know to stay compliant.

You’ll learn why the Act was introduced, its key changes to building safety laws, and the roles of Duty Holders and Accountable Persons in design, construction, and maintenance. It covers stricter safety measures for Higher-Risk Buildings, like digital records and enhanced inspections, while emphasising the importance of resident involvement.

For facilities managers, the course offers clear guidance on managing safety risks, maintaining documentation, and ensuring effective communication to comply with the Act.

Informative course

The course was informative but the test needs to be written again with harder questions that challenge whether you read all that you needed to. Many questions were answerable with common sense.

Why is this training important?

Compliance

This legislation was brought about after the devastating fire in June 2017 at Grenfell Tower. The tragedy revealed major flaws in building regulations, fire safety, and risk management. A public inquiry found that poor design, substandard materials, and weak enforcement were key factors that led to the incident.

This training is important to avoid tragedies like this from happening in the future.

If you work in construction, property management, or facilities, this course is vital, as it’s designed to keep your building occupants safe. This training outlines your responsibilities under the law whilst also highlighting the consequences of non-compliance. With heavy fines and potential imprisonment on the cards, it’s essential that you get things right.

Beyond compliance, this course empowers you to create a culture of safety and accountability across all stages of a building’s lifecycle. Lead by example, armed with the knowledge you need to comply with the Building Safety Act.
