The future of training

eLearning is shaping the future of employee training. The Coronavirus pandemic saw a significant rise in eLearning, and with continued growth forecast in this industry, online workplace training will become more commonplace. During the last few months eLearning providers have been able to prove the benefits of online learning, with many providers offering free access to some courses for key workers and the general public, in these difficult times. Advances in technology have allowed greater accessibility to eLearning and users are able to complete courses on a multitude of devices including smart phones, tablets and laptops.

Furthermore, organisations have been looking for an easy solution to support the health & safety and wellbeing of employees, particularly where they have been dispersed across many locations. Key areas of online health, safety and compliance training include DSE, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Risk Assessments, Health & Safety for Homeworkers, Returning to Work (during & after COVID-19), GDPR, Cyber Security and Mental Health Awareness. Many organisations are already reaping the benefits of an eLearning programme and integrating it seamlessly into their business as it provides cost effective, off the shelf courses on a whole range of health and safety topics. Every business will be well aware of the COVID-secure guidelines and the focus of keeping workplaces safe. This has brought health and safety to the forefront of every organisation and whilst it has always been important, this spotlight on employee welfare will shape the future and create a more positive health and safety culture.

eLearning has proved its value

Despite COVID-19, an organisation is still responsible for the health and safety of their employees. Employee health & safety cannot take a back seat because businesses have found themselves in unchartered territory. In fact, if anything it has further emphasised the importance of health and safety in the workplace. The future of work depends upon building and maintaining a safe working environment for employees, as this will help boost productivity, reduce absenteeism and create confidence in your workforce.

Online training solutions are available to all industries for a range of essential health & safety and compliance training, whether to support homeworkers, those on furlough, or those returning to work. As the traditional workplace has undergone a huge transformation, organisations are looking to a new way of working, and eLearning is set to play a vital role in the future of training.
