About this course
This text-based course offers a clear, beginner-friendly introduction to Artificial Intelligence. It starts by defining AI in simple terms and explains the difference between narrow and general AI, helping learners understand how different systems work and what they’re capable of.
The course covers key AI concepts such as algorithms, machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, and computer vision — as well as newer developments like generative AI. It also explores ethical concerns, including bias, privacy, and the impact of AI on jobs, using the FAST Track ethical principles as a guide.
Learners will then explore how AI is already being used in real-world scenarios across industries like healthcare, finance, retail, and education. A brief look at the history of AI puts everything into context, while a final section on the future of AI highlights where the technology might be headed next.
