The idea for EDI is good but it could be over abused and should be properly addressed under organisational rules.

I am leading a team of five from different countries with different backgrounds, races, cultures, habits, religions. Some have been in the UK for many years. EDI should be practiced with care along with the local core values such as honesty & integrity, commitment to jobs, fairness and with discipline. Organisations will be out of control not to even mention productivity and higher profit if EDI is wrongly practiced with a gang coming for benefits and welfare with no commitment and discipline, leaving others to cover their malpractices and deficiencies.
