room for more engagement

Covered the basics well, though I think there were some points that could be more engaging. The test at the end, for example, felt like it was testing some more arbitrary questions and retention of phrases rather than how to put this learning into practice, like the question on how much information the brain processes etc. - does knowing that statistic help mitigate bias? The language around gender could use a little tweak to feel more inclusive for trans and non-binary people - "one gender over *another*" rather than "one gender over *the* other." Though the activity listening to three voices was really effective and useful in my opinion, a great practical application and very instant visual challenge to preconceived ideas - even for people well versed in ED&I practices.

Does what it says on the tin

Although slightly boring in most parts, the course is informative and delivers the content in a precise way.

ok

This was hard to get a grip with, I didn't realise there was so much wrong with how people think.

Effective

This was one of the better courses although done solo it was quite engaging as I did question my own bias and what I might do to ACT in the future. I found some of the sections unnecessarily long. It would be good to follow up with further discussion as a whole company and continue to reflect on this and make sure we are ACTing

Assumes that 'fair' is right

The course assumes that life should be fair when it isn't. The course also assumes that 'fair' or 'ideal' equals business success yet offers no evidence to support the assertion. The course also skates over a situation where the facts support a judgement. In short faux psychotherapy. Or is that an unconscious bias?

Useful in some way.

Good to be reminded how our unconscious mind can influence our behaviour and attitudes to others.

Course was a bit basic

The course was a bit basic and designed for one size fits all. I felt I was being stereotyped and my individual understanding of the subject was not being considered. Maybe presenting the test before the course would be good to either set the level or fast track those already aware of the topic. This is a university and you might credit participants with intelligence. Images of brains and ideas as drawers adds little to the ideas being put across and more suitable to explain concepts children. The presenter was very good but the content less so in places
