Demonstrations not so relevant

I am and have been a Moving and Handling trainer, trained by Centuar since 2010, attending an annual trainers refresher since then. I felt this training is only really suitable for staff working in Care Homes etc. Not necessarily suitable for SEND Schools in Moving and Handling the type of pupils who attend our type of schools. The training did not show the types of equipment we use such as, standing frames, walkers, accessing the hydrotherapy pool or some of the more relevant handling techniques for working with children. In the in-person training I deliver we cover all relevant paperwork such as Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work relevant to our types of setting too. All staff receive a full day in-person training covering theoretical and practical training then an annual refresher to keep their training up-to-date. Also the content of the generic Manual Handling course is covered in the Centuar training we deliver too. Not sure that this online training is very suitable at all or inline with the type of work we do in SEND Schools to support our pupils. That includes the other Manual Handling course you supply too. I would be really happy to work with you to improve this provision for the future. Please contact me!

Inadequate training.

Far too much detail regarding complex manoeuvres which would require proper training to be carried out safely and correctly: the test/certificate does not reflect any competence in these areas.

Not suitable for everyone.

Not happy having to be force to use the course without controlling speed of videos. Takes me 3 times more to finish a course without speed control.Would not recommend it to anyone besides a first time trainee.Animation was very good.

Poor.

When you want to go back and check something you need to watch all videos again fully which wastes time. Some answers technically have more than one correct answer for instance the spinal disc itself has no blood supply. Without a blood supply the disc does not have a way to repair itself, and pain created by the damaged disc can last for years. However "the spinal disc has no blood supply" was not considered a correct answer. The sound on the video was also poor. You should also be able to skip a slide if you already know the subject and yet are unable to do this which means watching through a lot of stuff that you have done before.

Mostly not applicable

Most of the information not applicable to our school environment.

2/5
Too easy.

Where it is nice to have multiple choice questions, the wrong choices were ridiculous in some instances and the correct answer too obvious.

would be better if they were real people
