About this course
Poor mental health is a very serious issue at work. It can have a huge impact on productivity and it can create a negative working environment. Management teams have a duty to recognise and acknowledge poor mental health and they must know how to deal with a variety of situations relating to the topic.
This Mental Health Awareness Training for Managers raises awareness of mental health and it explains different working practices that management can use to offer support to colleagues. It also provides simple and effective tools that can be used on a daily basis for management to enhance both their own and their employee's mental health.
It's not only a moral responsibility to take care of one another at work... it makes financial sense too. For every £1 that an organisation invests in improving the mental health of their staff, they see an average of a £5 return!

Very good course.

Repetitive
The first few sections are the same as the college one, I would suggest managers only have to do this one, not both.
Its a really long course
The material covered is well documented and offers little that is new, enlightening or engaging. At one third of the running time of the typical movie, you could either cut the course content to 30 minutes or try and find something stimulating to put in to the course.
Very generic course
Fairly generic course, could pass without doing the research, as questions so easy and general , most answers were easily identified from the question grammar, some ideas not practical, e.g discuss mental health during appraisals, we dont get staff appraisals or PDP meetings, although they have been asked for and allegedly are in pipeline.....
It was a good course.

Good course and supporting documents.
Perhaps a little more in recognition and signs of mental health issues in staff may be useful.
Good coarse

Why is this training important?
Business benefits
According to the HASAWA 1974, employers must “so far as is reasonably practicable” protect the health & safety of their employees by removing or reducing risks in the workplace.
If someone has a mental illness for over 12 months and they can show that it’s causing them disadvantages at work, it can be classed as a disability. This means the employee is protected by the Equality Act if colleagues or their employer were to discriminate against them because of their mental illness. Employers are legally required to make reasonable adjustments to support employees with mental illnesses at work. However, even if it’s not classed as a disability, management should always offer all the support they can.
