About this course
Our online KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education) course allows for easy reporting, helping you keep tabs on who has and who hasn't read Part one of the guidance.
Best of all, we give it away for free to any educational institute that purchases any of our other eLearning courses.
We decided to create this online version of the document when we were approached by a school that wanted an easier recording method for staff that had read the guidance. Signing a piece of paper wasn't enough for them to prove that their staff had read and understood the contents of the document.
After passing this onto the development team we were delighted to launch a module in which users were tested on their knowledge and the completed result was recorded within the suite. One comment from one school created our KCSIE course. Now 4 years on we are proud that we are able to help schools easily adhere to their mandatory requirements.

Disappointing
The course simply provides the enormous document and then asks 10 (very easy) multiple choice questions which I would hope all of my staff could answer right now - without reading the new KCSIE guidance. I was hoping for a summary of the important changes in KCSIE 2022 (as opposed to KCSIE 2021) as well as a reminder of key points and with some concise video / audio content. It serves a purpose but only just. (Sorry to be negative - but not up to the standard of other courses)

Why is this training important
Compliance
It's important that you comply with the law and know the ways in which it affects you and the way you work.
It's crucial that all staff read Part one (or Annex A, where Governing bodies deem appropriate) of the KSCIE document to better understand their safeguarding responsibilities.
This guidance applies to all schools and colleges and is for:
• headteachers, teachers and staff
• governing bodies, proprietors and management committees
It sets out the legal duties you must follow to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people under the age of 18 in schools and colleges.
All school and college staff should read part 1 of this guidance. Part 1 of the guidance is also available as a standalone document.
