Health & Safety and Compliance training courses
Manual Handling Training
Warehouse staff are often having to move heavy objects around up and down the premises, and without training, this is a serious risk. Our training course provides all levels of staff with the knowledge they need to move and lift heavy objects properly.
Fire Warden (Marshal) Training
Every organisation legally requires a designated Fire Warden present at work. Our course provides designated employees with all the knowledge they need to become a fully trained Fire Warden (practical training also required) to better protect the workplace and staff in case of a fire.
First Aid Appointed Person Training
It’s a legal requirement for all organisations, including warehouses, to have at least one appointed person to take care of first aid procedures in the workplace. Our training course covers health & safety requirements and how to deal with emergencies at work.
First Aid at Work Refresher Training
It's crucial that warehouses have designated staff in place to deal with first aid situations, especially when warehouses are considered a high-risk environment. Our training works as a refresher between practical training sessions every three years for trained first aiders.
PPE Training - Personal Protective Equipment
All employers must adhere to the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992 - which means providing employees with suitable PPE. Our training course teaches warehouse employees how to safely use this PPE.
Risk Assessment Training
There are multiple risks associated with working in warehouses. Our training course provides all levels of warehouse employees with the knowledge they need to identify risks and know the standard protocol in preventing these risks from causing incidents.
Accident Reporting Training
With less than a fifth of accidents being reported properly under RIDDOR, it’s crucial that all warehouse employees understand the correct procedures to comply with current legislation. Our course teaches all levels of employees how to do just that.
Ladder Safety Training
Ladders account for around 40% of falls from height accidents in the UK. Therefore, it should be considered a risk for warehouse staff to regularly work on ladders. Our training course teaches all levels of employees how to use a ladder safely.
Working at Height Training
As the leading cause of deaths in UK workplaces, falls from height must be prevented as far as reasonably practicable by all workplaces, especially those that have employees frequently working from heights. Our training courses teaches all levels of employees how to safely work from height.
Your Legal Responsibilities
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 states that there must be a ‘competent person’ to implement the proactive and reactive measures required by this piece of legislation. A competent person would be someone that has the right knowledge and experience to be able to perform this role properly and show due diligence with the legislation.
The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
This is the key legislation that covers all things Health & Safety in the UK. This Act is enforced by the HSE in partnership with local authorities as well as a number of other Acts and Statutory Instruments that are relevant to the workplace. Under this act, employers have a duty to ‘ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work of all his employees’ and the premises.
Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992
Under these regulations, Manual Handling is taken to include the lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, carrying, and movement of anything by hand or bodily force. The regulations also state employers must ensure that all workers receive proper training and information on how to handle loads correctly.
The Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992
This legislation covers the use and issue of PPE to employees. They seek to ensure that where the risks cannot be controlled by other means, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is correctly selected and used.
