At 5pm today during a routine update to our application we experienced a period of unexpected downtime lasting approximatley 20 minutes. This was the result of a problem with our deployment process and subsequent to that, a problem with rolling back to a stable previous application state. Having established the cause of the problem we were able to deploy the planned update and restore access to the application. We have made changes to the deployment process to mitigate a repeat of this scenario and apologise for the inconvenience this downtime would have caused.
