Downtime on Monday the 16th of April

Today at approximately 11:50 and 14:45 we experienced periods of ~30 minutes during which our application became unacceptably slow to respond to requests. This appears to have been caused by an unusually large influx of concurrent users.

Over the past few months we have been working hard to improve application performance both at a hardware and a software level so we are obviously disappointed that we have not been able to provide the solid and reliable service we would have hoped to today and are sorry for the inconvenience this would have caused you.

We're confident that a number of application improvements which are due to go live in the coming weeks will provide us with greater resilience and stability and appreciate your patience and understanding in the interim and we work hard to roll those out.
